Orr basketball coach Louis Adams got an early Christmas present on Friday as All-Public League forward Sire Carroll, along with all-conference point guard Issaiah Hayes were both ruled eligible to play.

The 6-7 Carroll averaged 18 points and eight rebounds while earning All-Public League honors at Farragut last season. Hayes was the starting point guard at Crane last year.

Adams said he is thankful that the Board reached the decision it did.

"There is no doubt that they will make us a better team, but what is more important is that these two young men have a chance to pursue their passion which has allowed them to stay focused and be committed to becoming better young men," said Adams.

Carroll said he is ready to go.

"It's been hard not being able to play and not knowing how things were going to work out," said Carroll.  "I am thankful for all the support I got that kept me positive.  I am ready to get on the court and help my team any way I can."

Carroll and Hayes made their debut in Milwaukee at the Snow Jam Basketball Classic on Friday.
