Curie's Cliff Alexander goes up for a monster dunk against St. Rita at the Team Rose Classic. Worsom Robinson/For Sun-Times Media.
Curie's Cliff Alexander is not eligible to play in the Condors' game Friday at the Marshall County Shootout in Benton, Ky.
"He's not eligible to play," Illinois High School Association Executive Director Marty Hickman said Tuesday. "Getting ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct means you aren’t eligible to play in your next game. Most often that comes from two technicals but can also come from just one act."
Sunday against St. Rita Alexander received a technical for taunting Mustangs star Vic Law and a second technical for hanging on the rim after a dunk with 2:19 left and Curie leading 62-53.
Alexander said he got caught up in the moment.
"Victor and I are the best of friends and we are both competitive," Alexander said.
Alexander, a Kansas recruit, will be eligible to play in Curie's game Saturday against Bishop Gorman, Nev. at the Chicago Elite Classic.
