Oak Park raced out to an early 24-6 lead but had to hold off a Lyons rally to win the West Suburban Silver game in Western Springs. The Lions were unable to recover an onside kick after a 10-yard touchdown pass from Tom Fiedler to Sam Shea with 1 minute, 10 seconds left.
Lyons (3-4, 2-2) pulled within 24-19 after a seven-yard touchdown pass from Fiedler to Shea with 5:25 to play. The Huskies (6-1, 4-1) responded by marching down the field on a seven-play 76-yard drive, capped by a 26-yard TD run off the option by quarterback Lloyd Yates with 2:26 remaining.
Yates carved up the Lions with his legs and arm. The 6-foot-2 junior ran for 170 yards on 15 carries while going 8-for-13 for 99 yards through the air.

Oak Park rushed for 335 yards. Jamal Baggett had 80 yards and a score on 12 carries while Mike Hayden picked up 51 yards and two scores on 12 carries. Fiedler finished the game 26-for-41 for 252 yards and three touchdowns.
