Chicago Whitney Young center Jahlil Okafor has named four schools that are in the lead for his commitment. | Sun-Times Library
Young center Jahlil Okafor named Baylor, Duke, Kansas and Kentucky as the schools with the best chances of landing him Saturday, per ESPN.com. Okafor said the list was his top four, but Sunday, his father, Chukwudi Okafor, said the schools were not an official top-four.
"Okafor told Scout.com on Saturday he had narrowed his choices to Baylor, Duke, Kansas and Kentucky, but Chukwudi Okafor, Okafor’s father, said the list wasn’t official.
“We haven’t officially cut the list,” Chukwudi said in a phone interview on Sunday. “Those four schools have the best chance. Anything can still happen.”"
Okafor, widely considered the nation's top senior, named his top eight schools back in May, including Arizona, Baylor, Duke, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan State and Ohio State. In addition, Okafor continues to say he'd like to be a "packaged deal" with Apple Valley (Minnesota) point guard Tyrus Jones, ESPN's fourth-ranked senior.
