Reid Berman, a senior point guard, had 10 assists and nine points in the victory at Loyola. The Amherst recruit scored an acrobatic lay-up and assisted on another basket on consecutive possessions early in the fourth quarter.
New Trier senior Aaron Rosen made a heads-up switch on a screen on the perimeter that prevented St. Viator sophomore Mark Falotico from getting a clean look on a three-pointer that would have tied the game in the final seconds. Jordan Thomas then made one free throw to secure the Trevians’ ninth win in a row.

St. Viator (15-6) led by one after the first quarter, New Trier (22-4) led by two at the half and the two teams were tied after 36 minutes. New Trier’s Stas Banas scored 11 of his game-best 22 in the fourth. The teams combined for 36 free throws in the final quarter and 68 for the game.
