After switching its defense from zone to man-to-man, North Shore went on a 30-0 run en route to Saturday's 49-14 victory.

After switching its defense from a 2-3 zone to man-to-man coverage, the North Shore Country Day girls basketball team turned a 4-2 deficit into a 32-4 lead, and rolled from there en route to a 49-14 victory.

"I thought we came out flat, so I put us in a full-court, man-to-man," said first-year Raiders coach Dana Leonard, whose team improved to 7-9 overall with the win. "So the defense created the offense, and it was a real team effort."

The Raiders led 12-4 after one quarter, and then shut out the Griffins in the second quarter to take a 26-4 lead into halftime. Roycemore didn't score again until 3:07 remained in the third, and trailed 34-8 entering the fourth. North Shore's lead ballooned to 48-10 before the Griffins tallied a pair of baskets in the final minutes.

Sophomore guard Safia Vohra led the Raiders in scoring with 12 points, and forward Ilhana Redzovic added 11. Freshman forwards Claire Czolgosz and Jana Redzovic paced the Griffins with six points each.
